
Within the scope of the Technical Support Project for Assessing Turkey’s Transition Potential to a Circular Economy, the Workshop on Assessment of Economic Tools Used in Integrated Waste Management was held in Ankara on April 29-30 with the participation of public institutions and private sector representatives. TGSD Youth Platform Members Büşra Karasu and Ayşegül Kaya attended the event on behalf of our Association.
Circular Economy and Waste Management Department Head Sabriye Ayhan, in her speech at the opening of the workshop, said, “The most important issue in the circular economy is the management of waste. It is very important to collect waste at the source so that it can be reused and recycled.”
DEEP Team Leader Mihail Dimovski also stated in his speech that the status of Extended Producer Responsibility in Turkey and the economic tools to be used to develop it will be evaluated today.
At the event, information was obtained and opinions were presented about Extended Producer Responsibility, Eco-modulation, Plastic Tax, Pay As You Throw, Deposit Refund System, Landfill/Incineration Tax.
