Our association was represented by our Board Member Ms. Sanem Dikmen at the reception given by the US Ambassador to Turkey and the US Consul General in honor of US Secretary of Commerce Wilbur L. Ross. Approximately 70 senior people from different sectors attended the reception and the intention to start a study on what can be done to realize the 100 billion dollars trade volume promised by the Heads of State was declared. Ms. Sanem mentioned in her meeting that Turkey receiving a privilege for ready-made garment import tax would increase our business volume and that this would also affect our use of American cotton. She also expressed her opinion that an interim solution similar to NAFTA could be possible.
